· Would you advise Senator Trillianes to go home now? – Roque: “It is only his Drama that he stayed inside the senate. He’s just over reacting (O.A). Better go home because it is not right for the people of the Philippines to pay for the bills of his board and lodging inside the Senate. (He is referring to the tax of the people). Only the President has the privilege to stay inside and to think the Vice President in their own budget. Senators are not included.”
· About Trillianes’ supporters that visits him, giving him a mass, giving him a huge support, what do you recommend for them? – Roque: “It is up to them what they wanted to do, but there is no reason or it is not necessary to do what they have done. Because it is very clear that the President himself said that we will wait for the decision of RTC (Regional Trial Court). The Supreme Court also agrees with Duterte about the decision of the RTC. So there is no reason other than political mileage to stay inside the Senate.”
· On the statement of the President seemingly daring the military to oust him, what is the purpose of the president on saying that statement? – Roque: “The context of President Duterte, he said - if they really want to revolt against the President, then they have to do it in order for the issue to be finished - which means the President himself is self-satisfied that there would be no support from the military to oust him from his position. His seeming incitement is also an expression of confidence that no one would follow Trillianes and his company.”
· President Duterte yesterday was talking about the September 21 plot to eliminate him. What is the information that he has right now about his statement? – Roque: “I don’t know if it is to eliminate him. What I have just heard is the coalition between the communist, the Magdalo, and the yellows. And the President says, this is on Intel. So we leave it at that because I was not privy to the Intel the President receive.”
· So you don’t know sir where he got the Intel information? – Roque: “He did say it is from a foreign government.”
· Is there an indication of what country is it sir? - Roque: “NONE. Because I was not privy to that Intel.”
· Sir is this a regular thing for a country to spy on the government’s perceived enemies? – Roque: “I do not know if it is a regular thing. What I do know is that is the nature of Intel. Intel precisely intended to provide you with information to avoid eventuality.”
