MANILA Philippines – Spokesperson Harry Roque held a press conference which tackled the issues including Senator Antonio Trillianes’ revocation of his amnesty. Aside from this, the past case of Antonio Trillianes IV which is mutiny and rebellion had also been scrutinized by the media and as expected, Harry Roque formally gives an efficient answer.
The conference focused more on the Trillianes’ case that majority of Filipinos are not aware of, is a CAPITAL OFFENSE. Harry Roque insist that the best evidence of Trillianes must be the duly received application form which unluckily the senator doesn’t possess as of now, and he did not understand why does Trillianes don’t have the copy of it. He also added that the certificate is a very important document and the authentic one must be presented during the hearing to pursue the rules of evidence.
What’s Between Trillianes And Duterte?
Trillianes had been the top vocal critic of President Duterte ever since the President won the election that was held on May 9, 2016. Until now, the senator still continues to critic Duterte’s performance. So the question is, why Trillianes is mad with Duterte?
According to Harry Roque during the press conference – ‘as far as the President remembered before the May 9, 2016 election, Senator Trillianes talks with the President to present himself as his Vice President. The President "did not directly" refuse the offer of the senator but Instead, Duterte admired the bravery and loyalty of Trillianes and his fellow soldiers. Also one of the reasons why he cannot accept Trillianes’ offer is because he has no plan to run for the presidency before. ‘
Roque also added - ‘The question now is; why Trillianes wants to be a Vice President of Duterte if he sees Duterte as the worst President that we ever had. So, Antonio Trillianes is really hiding something, he also has inconsistency. I do accept the change of perspective because I also treated Trillianes as a friend until we separate ways when he supported Noynoy Aquino. But it is clear that as late as 2016, Trillianes wants to run as Vice President for Duterte. Maybe this is one of the reasons why he is mad with Duterte; Duterte did not indulge his offer.
