Trillianes Suspicion: There Is An Existing Order To Arrest Me

MANILA, Philippines September 2018 – Senator Antonio Trillianes IV decided to stay inside the Senate after his hearing on Makati Regional Trial Court Batch 150 this Friday, September 14.

The Senator’s plan to leave the Senate was postponed because of his suspicion that there will be a warrant-less arrest against him. Trillianes presented some pictures and videos of a suspicious person riding a motorcycle who’s following his car during the first night he attempted to leave and one after his hearing on Friday.

Trillianes added – “nagkaroon ng augmentation yung PNP personnel outside at ang intention daw is paglabas ko they will stop me from going back in. And noong eto na, a few hours ago eh talagang winarningan kami, ako, ng AFP arresting units na huhulihin ako paglabas. So with that, ang desisyon is again to remain here in the senate. ”

English translation: “there had an augmentation of PNP personnel outside and it is said that the intention after I leave the Senate is to stop me from going back in. And a few hours ago, AFP arresting units warned me that they will arrest me. So with that, I made a decision to remain here in the Senate.”

Trillianes also added – “the AFP doesn’t issue warrants, and there is existing order from the AFP to arrest me, and there is no new order canceling that previous arrest order.”

But President Dodrigo Duterte denied the Senator’s accuse. Duterte said – “nobody is interested to arrest them. The military does not have the interest. I do not have the interest. He can stay there as a border.”

The Department of Justice is still frustrated to get a warrant of arrest against Trillianes from the Regional Trial Court of Makati Branch 148 on Thursday. President Duterte also stated that he will wait for the decision of the court before arresting the senator.

President Duterte – “I told the police that 'do not arrest him until there is a warrant of arrest by the court. Neither the military, it is not constituted the martial law court. So, it is only the civilian court and there is no order. If it has no order, then don’t interfere.”

The statement of Trillianes regarding on the issue that someone is following him or to arrest him still has no solid proof of its existent.

The report didn’t question Trillianes on the validity of his information. In spite of Trillianes’ claim, President Duterte’s statement about the warrant still remains factual. "There is no warrant of arrest" - PRRD
