July 22, 2019, MANILA, Philippines – Senator
Risa Hontiverus stated that she wishes President Duterte to not to provide a
fake-news-powered SONA on Monday.
As President Duterte said that he will
educate people about the dispute happened on the West Philippine Sea which
includes the verbal agreement between him and the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
This also comprises the reason why he allowed Chinese to have an access on the
Philippines Exclusive economic zone.
Senator Risa also added that she expect
nothing from the speech of the President because the President’s SONA contains
cursed words, threat of violence, pampering comment for women, and in the last,
betrayal to our country.
“Actually, halos hindi ko na alam
kung anong aasahan. Dahil ang mga Sona niya ay puro mura, pagbabanta ng
karahasan, pambabastos sa kababaihan, tapos nitong huli, pagtataksil sa bansang
Pilipinas para sa China.”
Opposing
Senator Hontiverus also added that she is hoping to stop the fake-news powered
on the SONA. Instead, she hopes that President Duterte will consider to discuss
the foreign policy of the country between the agreements with China on the issue
regarding on EEZ of the Philippines.
Aside
from that, Hontiverus pointed out the President’s unwanted approach through
women since the Bawal Bastos Law that will punish women harassment was already
signed.
