TERMINATED: 3 Manila Police Chief and Other Station Commanders

Manila, Philippines – 3 Chief of Police including 7 members of its Station Commander in Metro Manila had been terminated due to their failure to fight illegal gambling to their respective covered area.  

Stated by the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Police Major General Debold Sinas, the directives is strictly implemented according to PNP Chief Police General Archie Gamboa.


Debold Sinas named the terminated police; Pasay City Chief Police Colonel Bernard Yang, Police Chief Colonel Noel Flores of Caloocan City, and Chief Police Colonel Gerardo Umayao of Muntinlupa City.

Sinas emphasized the reason of extermination was due to command responsibility. He also stated - “I will talk to the Chiefs of Police to let them explain kasi mga senior officers din ang mga ito to make a win win approach.”



On the 7 Station Commanders which were also terminated includes Major Joeric Actucia, Station 1 of Caloocan; Major Herben Magada Lago, Station 1 of Caloocan; Major Elmer Gutierrez, Station 5 of Muntinlipa; Police Major Christopher Mercado, Station 5 of Muntinlupa; Major Marvin Oloan, Station 1 of Pasay; and Captain Romel Bulan, Station 1 of Pasay.



According to Sinas, the illegal gambling in their designated areas that is under the jurisdiction of the seven Station Commanders are inflated. The report says some video karera machines were confiscated by the PNP-Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) and it is better to be removed while the case is still under a thorough investigation.

Sinas once again, warned the Station Commanders and Chiefs that whosoever fails in this more intensified champagne against illegal gambling will be terminated to their positions. In addition, Silas also challenged them to improve their public service.

As we remembered, Gamboa was once warned that he will implement a “one strike policy” to PNP officials who will fail to stop the illegal gambling on their respective scopes.
