February 4, 2020 – President Rodrigo Duterte approved the 2
Billion Pesos budget to acquire personal protective equipment that will be used
by health workers.
According to Francis Duque III (Health Secretary), this is
very important for health workers in order for them to be protected while
working in the field. Hence the novel
coronavirus acute respiratory disease has already spread in other parts of the
world, it is necessary for Filipinos to have a proper equipment.
On the report of DWIZ 882, these equipment will be given to
almost 5,000 health workers which costs 1,500 pesos each set. In addition, the
problem regarding the outbreak may take 3 months (the possibility).
The government will also give more than 10 million pesos
worth of facemask that will be given free to all patients in public hospitals.
Prior to the outbreak, President Duterte wants to have an ambulance which will
exclusively use by possible victims of 2019 nCOV-ARD.
