MANILA, Philippines ( September 10 ) – The Makati court is expecting for the decision of the Supreme Court about Senator Trillianes’ issue regarding on the amnesty that was revoked by President Duterte. Makati regional trial court branch 150 handled the earlier rebellion case against Trillianes.
The justice department is asking the court to issue an alias warrant and hold departure order against Trillianes. The higher court set a hearing on Friday, September 14, to listen to Trillianes’ side.
Senator Antonio Trillianes reacted to the court’s announcement this afternoon – “The very least yung ah proclamation na ito kaya hindi sinusunod even the lower courts” – “This is the very least proclamation, that even the lower courts didn’t go after it.”
Also, the Makati RTC branch 148 has also a separate petition for a warrant and hold order against Trillianes is also pending. The branch was handled Trillianes’ coup d’etat case earlier. A hearing about that matter is set on Thursday, September 13.
Defense secretary Delfin Lorenzana speaks up on how the voiding of the Senator’s amnesty came about. Two weeks before the voiding of the amnesty, Lorenzana got a call from Solicitor General Jose Calida. Delfin Lorenzana: “I remember that was August 16? After the issue exploded into a dispute between Antonio Trillianes and Malacañang, Lorenzana says “Let the supreme court decide on that. Kung ano yung mga merits and demerits ng mga arguments both sides”.
Meanwhile, President Duterte addresses the Armed Forces while he continues to say something about Trillianes. This is what President Duterte said – “You should focus your loyalty in the flag of the Philippines and the constitution.”
President Duterte’s reason to void Trillianes’ amnesty is that the minimum requirements that are needed for him to be qualified in that amnesty program were failed.
