Trillianes: Duterte Is The One Who Sleeps With The Communists - Another Slander?

Senate Manila, Philippines September 24, 2018 – Before the hearing of Senator Trillianes’ case on his amnesty, he holds a press conference which the Senator shows the additional data required or the supplemental comment by the Regional Trial Court Branch 148 and 150 of Makati City.

Trillianes stated on the conference about the arguments regarding the nullification of his amnesty that it is being complied by the figures that he has shown. One of the arguments involves the Senator’s application form which he did not file for amnesty. Instead of showing the application form, Trillianes displayed a picture showing that he has sworn to Colonel Berbegal where the said Colonel signed an affidavit for Trillianes’ amnesty.

Trillianes insisted that an amnesty could be approved without the signature of the President. Based on the pieces of evidence that Trillianes exhibited, an amnesty certificate from 1987 to 1989 coup attempts was used as an example by the Senator to explain the validity of his amnesty. 

During the conference, a reporter asked Trillianes about the alleged plot to oust President Duterte. Trillianes answered – “sinabi ko na nga na hindi kami sasama sa mga communista. Not now, not ever. And on the contrary, si Duterte mismo yung sleeping with the communists."

On the statement of Trillianes that the President is the one who sleeps with the communists could be considered as “Slander”? Would Trillianes knows that his statement may cause him another problem?
