February 11, 2020 – ang walong (8) bagon ng Philippine National
Railways (PNR) ay dumating na sa ating bansa. Naiulat na eto ay bago pa. Ayon
sa update, ang mga eto ay dadalhin na sa depot ng PNR. Naitalang ang mga eto ay
8100 series multiple unit ng diesel.
Mabubuo ang dalawang tren ng PNR sa nabangit na bagon at naitalang
kaya netong magbigay ng serbisyo sa ating mga kababayang Pilipino mula Tutuban
hanggang Alabang. Natatayang may kakayahan etong magdala ng isang libong
(1,000) pasahero.
Bago pa man eto isalang sa pang commercial na operasyon, magkakaroon
muna ng validation test na aabot sa 150 oras para subukan kung maayos ang
magiging takbo ng sinasabing bagong tren.

PNR’s 8100 series has arrived in Manila, consisting of Eight (8)
new rail cars (two trainsets with 4-car formation per set). The units are now
docked at the port of Manila and are awaiting transfer to the PNR depot.
This new 8100 series
of Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU), with a 4-car formation per set, is part of the
2018 train procurement and PNR's refleeting strategy that is aimed at
increasing capacity and frequency of trips.
Once fully deployed
for operation, it is expected to carry 1,000 passengers per trip and will be
used for Tutuban to Alabang route.
The trains will
undergo 150 hours RAMS validation test before it is deployed for commercial
operations.
The PNR will have
have 2 more DMU, 3 Locomotive and 15 passenger coaches and 2 shunter within the
first half of 2020.
