SC to Give ABS-CBN 10 Days to Comment on Petition for Nullification of its Franchise


February 11, 2020, MANILA, Philippines – The high court’s spokesperson said on Tuesday that the Supreme Court is asking for comments to ABS-CBN on quo warranto plea (petition to void their franchise), and is given a 10-day allowance.

The order allude to the Office of the Solicitor General’s appeal, thus require the said tv station to comment about the Solgen’s subject of temporary restraining order (TRO). The preliminary injunction was against Kapamilya Box Office (KBO) – an ABS-CBN movie channel.



Solgen Jose Calida asked the high court completely with haste. This gives the ABS-CBN Corp and ABS-CBN Convergence to comment on the petition for only 5 days. According to the report, It will hold oral arguments on March 3.  

Solgen Calida filed the quo warranto petition this Monday, February 10, 2020, mentioning that ABS-CBN corp and ABS-CBN convergence abuses the franchise.
